After welcoming his first born, Blue Ivy Carter, over the weekend, Hov went right back to business, first announcing he will be the spokesperson for the new Duracell Powermat and now preparing to reveal the re-opening of his New York City club, 40/40.
Last year, the NYC spot shut down for renovations. And in September, the club was blasted for not meeting area labor standards. Now, according to hiphopwired.com, the club will hold an exclusive, invite-only event on Wednesday, January 18, to premiere the revamped venue. The locale will be open to the public shortly after.
Details on the newly renovated Manhattan venue's upgraded features have hit the Internet.
Some of the renovations, implemented by designer Jeffrey Beers, include a new amber lit bar top, an illuminated bottle display tower, leather wall installations, huge LED TV's, new VIP lounges, oak wood floors and a new Broadway Grand Entrance. The original reopening was scheduled for November, but the Brooklyn born rapper and expectant father wanted to make sure everything is perfect before he re-opens the doors. The overall vision is to capture the "energy, grandeur, and opulence of NYC nightlife." (Haute Living)
As of now, the invite-only guest list features Big Apple sports stars from the New York Yankees and New York Giants.
The Flatiron-area club underwent massive renovations, reportedly in the neighborhood of $10 million, since closing last year.
